About OceanLabs

OceanLabs is a small independent lab and hub for calm, thoughtful, and privacy-friendly web projects.

OceanLabs was created by a group of people who care deeply about technology — and about the role it plays in people’s lives. We believe the web can be more than fast, loud, and attention-driven. It can also be calm, useful, and respectful of people’s time, focus, and privacy.

The lab grew out of years of experience in education and technology, and a desire to build in a way that feels more thoughtful and human. After working for a long time in structured environments, we wanted to create a space where curiosity, care, and creativity could guide what gets built — and how.

Our projects focus on areas where technology can genuinely help: learning and education, financial understanding and independence, and tools that make knowledge more open and accessible. We build small, focused projects that aim to be clear, lightweight, and human.

We are not driven by trends or growth at all costs. We prefer steady progress, careful design, and building things that remain useful over time. For us, technology is not just about what is possible, but about what is worth building.

What we value

  • Calm, distraction-free experiences
  • Privacy-friendly and lightweight tools
  • Learning through building and sharing
  • Thoughtful design over growth hacks

Collaborations

OceanLabs is also a place for collaboration. We enjoy working with people who share similar values — educators, designers, developers, and independent builders who want to create meaningful, well-crafted tools.

If you have an idea or project that aligns with this spirit, we’d be glad to hear from you. Reaching out is always welcome, and you can expect a thoughtful response.

We’re happy to build slowly, share openly, and see where thoughtful ideas can lead.
